Kanzi Resource Centre had the privilege of hosting a mission team from the United Kingdom in a two-week outreach that brought encouragement, spiritual growth, and renewed hope to children, families, and the wider Kibera community.

A central highlight of the visit was the Vacation Bible Study (VBS), which welcomed over 50 children each day. The program built toward a vibrant finale that gathered more than 300 participants from across the community. Through Bible teaching, storytelling, music, dance, art, and interactive activities, children were able to engage with the message of Christ in a joyful and memorable way. The program also marked a significant spiritual milestone, with several children making personal commitments to follow Jesus.

Beyond the children’s program, the mission created meaningful opportunities for family engagement. A dedicated community gathering brought parents and caregivers together for fellowship and encouragement. During this session, clothing was distributed to support local families in need, alongside a powerful testimony shared by team member Laighton. His story of transformation and faith deeply resonated with many attendees, opening up heartfelt conversations around hope, purpose, and spiritual renewal.

The mission also placed intentional focus on young people through a rap and music workshop. Participants were encouraged to explore their creative talents and consider how music can be used as a positive force for expression, faith, and social impact. The session inspired youth to reflect on their gifts and how they can be used to uplift their communities.

This outreach was guided by the theme: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Throughout the two weeks, this message was reflected in the interactions, teachings, and shared experiences that took place daily. The mission served as a powerful reminder of the impact of investing in young people, strengthening families, and creating safe spaces where transformation can take root.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the UK mission team for their partnership, generosity, and servant-hearted commitment. Their presence brought lasting encouragement to many in the community, and we look forward to continuing this important work together in the future.
